Afraid of heights? There may be no better place on the planet to conquer your acrophobia than Asia’s Macau Tower. Also known by its full name, the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre, this skyscaper offers three death-defying ways for adrenaline junkies to get their fix.
There’s a traditional bungee jump, as well as a companion attraction called a “skyjump.” The skyjump is just like a bungee jump, except for the fact that your descent is controlled with a series of pulleys. This is perfect for the guy who wants to jump off a building and feel a bit safer while doing it.
Both the skyjump and the bungee jump boast falls of 233 meters (about 764 feet), making this the second highest commercial jump in the world. You can jump during the day, or wait til after dark to see the lights of the city come alive.
Want to relish extreme heights without having to jump off anything? You can opt for Macau Tower’s Skywalk X experience, where you are securely strapped into a rig and then allowed to walk around the outer rim of the building itself. The views are stunning, and it’s one of the best ways to see the Macau skyline.
Featured on travel shows like “Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations” and “An Idiot Abroad,” Macau Tower is the perfect place to push your limits, master your fear of heights, and feel the rush of falling from the top of a building.
You’ll never feel more alive then when you think your brain thinks you’re about to die.
